Washington DC Nonprofit Rebranding

June 4, 2024

LightMix was engaged to redesign the brand identity of a Washington DC-based nonprofit organization Horton’s Kids. The organization empowers young to graduate from school and provides critical academic, youth development, wellness, and community engagement programs. The unique challenge of rebranding the Washington DC nonprofit was to design a new identity while maintaining a strong connection to the organization’s roots and values to ensure smooth adoption in various media in the future.

LightMix team redesigned its old brand identity into a more modern design while maintaining the brand’s characteristics. We designed a visually simple yet friendly and approachable logo that can be used in various configurations without losing its’ clarity. In addition, the logo featured a recognizable logo mark, which could be used as a stand-alone design element and serve as a foundation for future brand materials maintaining visual consistency within the design.

We also designed basic brand identity guidelines, PowerPoint, and digital templates for use in internal and external communications indicating proper usage of the logo and brand elements.
